‘Driving Lessons’ has succeeded to garner the Best Short Film Award at the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival in Armenia
Directed by Marzieh Riahi, the short competed in the Regional Short Film Competition section at the 16th edition of the festival.
Written by Marjan Riahi, the film’s cast will be made up of actors Linda Kiani, Alireza Thanifar, Salar Khamseh, and Sanaz Mesbah.
The short has previously competed at the Tampere Film Festival in Finland, the Cartagena Film Festival in Colombia, the Tribeca Film Festival in the US, and the Edmonton International Film Festival in Canada.
Established in 2004, the Golden Apricot festival carries the theme of “crossroads of cultures and civilizations”. So the aim of GAIFF is to build bridges and encourage dialogue between different cultures. The fest tries to depict the lives of ordinary and extraordinary people alike and cover their troubles in everyday life.
16th edition of the Golden Apricot fest was held July 7-14, 2019.
