Sara Bahrami, the actress of Iranian film ‘Axing’, has garnered the Best Actress award at the 3rd Malaysia Golden Global Awards (MGGA 2019).
The film, directed by Behrouz Shoeibi and produced by Seyyed-Mahmoud Razavi, was nominated in 6 categories at the Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress.
“There is nothing harder in life than seeing someone you love decide to be alone. You enjoy seeing her and hearing her voice, but she closes the doors and chooses loneliness ... There is nothing harder in life than being left alone. You see your loved ones and you love them, but they all deny you. They close the doors on you and you are alone. Loneliness is a swamp,” a synopsis for the film read.
A few days ago, ‘Axing’ received an award presented by the Armenian Association of Film Critics and Cinema Journalists at the 16th edition of the Golden Apricot Yerevan Int’l film fest in Armenia.
Actors such as Mahnaz Afshar, Sara Bahrami, Jamshid Hashempour, Hadi Hejazifar, Negar Abedi, Shadi Karamroudi, and Amin Hayaee are among the cast.
MIFFest is an event to screen films in Malaysia. After showcasing the films, the winners are invited to MGGA to recognize their achievements on stage.
Both events were established in 2016 and aimed to provide the viewers with films that narrate the stories of life in the most artistic way.
The MGGA was held on July 20, 2019.
