Cinema Museum celebrates Kimiaee’s birthday

Iran’s veteran director and writer, Masoud Kimiaee, has celebrated his 78th birthday along with cineastes and fans in the Cinema Museum of Iran in the capital, Tehran.

Movie enthusiasts and artists, including Nafiseh Roshan and Arjang Amir-Fazli (both seen below), the actor of ifilm’s current series ‘Shams-ol-Emareh’, attended the celebration on Wednesday.

Kimiaee was born in Tehran on July 29, 1941.

His 1969 ‘Kaiser’ was a box office success, greatly influencing the film industry. He has introduced many new talents to the Iranian cinema.

Kimiaee has written, directed and produced several movies, including ‘The Deer’, ‘The Deal’, ‘Banquet’, ‘Mercedes’, ‘Friday Soldiers’, ‘The Verdict’, and ‘Metropol’.

He has received several awards from different festivals in Iran and other countries, including the Best Film Crystal Simorgh and Critics’ Award for ‘Crime’ at the Fajr International Film Festival in Iran and Jury’s Special Award for ‘Snake Fang’ at the Montreal International Film Festival in Canada.
