Cinema Cinema Academy announces nominees

The 2nd edition of Iran’s Cinema Cinema Academy Awards has announced nominees.

‘Sheeple’ by Houman Seyyedi and ‘I Am Not Angry’ by Reza Dormishian lead the nominations each in five categories, including best film and best director.

‘Lovely Trash’ by Mohsen Amir-Yousefi and ‘Pig’ by Mani Haqiqi got four nominations while ‘Dressage’ by Pouya Badkoubeh, ‘Flaming’ by Hamid Nematollah, ‘Bomb, a Love Story’ by Peyman Maadi, ‘Cold Sweat’ by Soheil Beiraqi, ‘The Lost Strait’ by Bahram Tavakkoli, and ‘No. 17 Soheila’ by Mahmoud Ghaffari received three.

The Cinema Cinema Academy Awards is Iran’s first private film academy based in Tehran.

The Cinema Cinema Academy Awards ceremony, which can be considered as the Iranian equivalent to the Oscars, is slated for August 10 at Tehran’s Enqelab Hotel.
