The 2019 East Northeast International Film Festival (ENE) in the US has scheduled to screen Iranian short ‘The Last Embrace’.
Directed by Saman Hosseinpour, the 4-minute short is about a little girl who wants to show her drawing to her family, but everybody is busy with their cell phones.
She goes to her grandpa who has just passed away a few minutes ago without anybody noticing it.
The film has taken part at a number of global events, including the 11th Porto7-Oporto Int’l Short Film Festival in Portugal, the 10th Seoul Int’l Extreme-Short Film Festival in South Korea, the 3rd DEFY Film Festival in the US, and the 2019 International Children’s Film Festival in Bangladesh.
It has won some awards, including the Best Narrative Short award at the Earth Day Film Festival in the US and Best Screenplay Award at the 3rd Gosh! Film Festival in France.
The 2019 ENE will also screen ‘The Man Who Forgot to Breathe’ by Saman Hosseinpour, ‘Starvation’ by Zahra Rostampour, ‘Are You Volleyball?!’ by Mohammad Bakhshi, ‘Slaughter’ co-directed by Saman Hosseinpour and Ako Zand-Karimi, as well as ‘Birthday Night’ by Omid Shams, all from Iran.
The ENE celebrates independent films, music, and the green technology industry all at the crossroads of the future to be a part of a diverse and creative global community.
The 2019 ENE is re-scheduled to be held on October 10-14 in Newburgh, New York, the US.
