Shooting for Iranian director Behzad Shoeibi’s film ‘The Woodpecker’ has begun in Iran, a film on the theme of drug abuse.
Actors/actresses of the cinematic project go before the camera one after another during the shooting stage of the film.
On the first day of shooting, Mahnaz Afshar, Amin Hayaee, Sara Bahrami acted in the movie shot by cinematographer Ali Reza Barazandeh.
Jamid Hameshpour and Hadi Hejazifar are also among the lead star cast of the film.
The social drama features a different narrative on how people confront addiction and drug abuse.
A production of Simaye-Mehr Cinematic Institute, the movie is Shoeibi’s third directorial after successful movies ‘The Corridor’ and ‘Cyanide’. The later was screened in 2016 and was warmly-welcomed by Iranian moviegoers and avid film fans.
