‘The Sea Swells’ to head to Japan

The 2019 Sapporo International Short Film Festival in Japan has set to screen Iranian short ‘The Sea Swells’.

Directed by Amir Gholami, ‘The Sea Swells’ will participate at the non-competition section of the Japanese event which is set to take place this autumn.

The 16-minute flick is a surreal story of an old man who lives in a floating cottage on the sea and makes coffins for those died in the battlefield.

Last month, ‘The Sea Swells’ attended the 10th edition of the Kinolikbez Film Festival in Russia.

The Sapporo International Short Film Festival is one of Japan and Asia’s largest and most respected events to showcase short form cinema.

The festival provides an opportunity for filmmakers to expose their works to large audiences and to submit them for appraisal by high profile international jury members.

The 14th edition of the Japanese event will take place in the city of Sapporo on October 16-20, 2019.
