Iran president unveils new Iran banknote

Iranian president Hassan Rouhani has attended a ceremony to unveil the country's new 10,000-rial bill with an image related to Iran great poet Hafez.

The ceremony was held Monday on the sidelines of 56th annual meeting for general assembly of the Central Bank of Iran.

The new 10,000-rial bill features on its back the mausoleum of Iranian legendary poet Hafez (Hafezieh) in Iran city of Shiraz, in addition to a picture of Imam Khomeini, late founder of the Islamic Republic.

Hafez is an eminent Iranian poet of worldwide fame. His works are among the most popular literary masterpieces ever created by Iranians.
