Iranian short ‘Pedovore’, directed by Mohammad Kart, has won an Oscar qualifying award at the Odense International Film Festival (OFF) in Denmark.
The Iranian short received the Grand Prix – HCA Award at this year’s edition of the Danish festival.
‘Pedovore’ is a social drama which zeros in on the issues of youngsters dealing with problems like child labor, bad parenting or having no parents at all.
“No one takes a child’s love seriously, while it is the purest. Nothing is as magnificent and robust as a kid’s love,” a synopsis for the film reads.
Launched in 1975, the OFF is Denmark’s international short film festival and is also the country’s oldest film festival.
The OFF supports and celebrates short film genre without compromise, but at the same time it is a festival for the audiences.
The 2019 Odense International Film Festival took place in the Danish city of Odense on August 25-31.
