Italian fest honors ‘Animal’

Iran short film ‘Animal has succeeded to receive two awards from Castrovillari Film Festival in Italy.

The jury panel of the Italian film event has granted Best Screenplay Award and Best Music Award to the Iranian short film ‘Animal' Directed by Bahman and Bahram Ark.

The 15-minute film is about a man who wants to pass the border illegally; so he hunts a ram and decides to escape disguised as the animal.  

Produced by Iranian National School of Cinema, the film has so far gained several awards and nominations from prestigious international festivals, including the second prize of the 2017 Cinéfondation Festival de Cannes.

It has also won a prestigious award from the 40th edition of the Denver Film Festival in the US.

The latest edition of Castrovillari Film Festival was held on August 24-25, 2019, in Italy.
