'Ammar festival receives 3k works'

Secretary general of Ammar Film Festival said to iFilm that the latest edition of the event has been warmly received.

Nader Talebzadeh said over 300 were sent to the upcoming edition of the festival with young filmmakers being highly visible in the festival.

The Iranian filmmaker and international analyst noted the Ammar festival is working as a teacher to revolutionary filmmakers.

The event also enjoys an international version (AIPFF) which aims “to raise real awareness and responsibility among the general public,” the AIPFF website read, adding the event’s mission is to create an atmosphere in which independent filmmakers and thinkers can gather together.”

Ammar International Popular Film Festival goes against promotion of “individualism and extreme enjoyment without caring about the society's troubles and other human suppression,” the event’s official website noted.

The seventh Ammar Popular Film Festival is scheduled to open on December 28, 2016.
