Spielberg to make film with Streep, Hanks

Steven Spielberg is set to make a new political movie ‘The Post’ in which two of the most celebrated actors of their generation, Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks, will star together for the first time.

The movie will be about Washington Post’s publication of the 1971 Pentagon Papers which was a leaked study from the Department of Defense detailing the U.S. government’s military involvement in Vietnam that uncovered new and damning information about the Vietnam war.

The decision to publish the study made headlines around the world when the newspaper's editor, Ben Bradlee, and publisher, Kay Graham, challenged the U.S. federal government over their right to publish them.

Meryl Streep is expected to portray Kay Graham while Tom Hanks will take on the role of Ben Bradlee.
