The new director of the Cinema Organization of Iran has said the priority of the organization is the 35th edition of the Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF).
The new director of the Cinema Organization of Iran (COI), Mohammad-Mehdi Heidarian, spoke about the agenda of the firm during a meeting with the COI officials and managers on Tuesday.
“All departments and institutes must help the organizers hold this festival the best way possible,” he said at the meeting.
Appreciating the endeavors by the former director, Hojjatollah Ayyubi, he also noted that Ayyubi received the organization when cinema had many problems and he well confronted the problems with his intelligence.
“Nonetheless, cinema needs a great change and we need to have programs for this change to reach the goals and priorities announced by the culture minister,” Heidarian added.
He invited Iranian cinema society to accept the changes and said, “It is natural that any changes might seem to have opponents, but we can take away the obstacles with better supervision.”
The official noted that Iran needs cultural justice and all the art and cultural facilities must be available for every individual all over the country.
Emphasizing on the importance of training more talented people for cinema and the wide range of art and cultural potentials across the country, he stated that we can make the most use while the young cinema in other cities and provinces needs to be supported.
The 35th edition of FIFF is to be held in Tehran on April 21-28.
