US to host Saleh Kashefi’s film

Iranian short ‘A Pair Of Horns on A Female Homo Sapiens’ has been set to participate at the 50th Nashville Film Festival in the US.

“People sometimes subconsciously associate their perception of disagreeable physical attributes with dislikable personality traits,” reads a synopsis for the film, which is directed by 20-year-old Saleh Kashefi.

The film’s participation at the Nashville Film Festival marks its 48th international appearance. ‘A Pair Of Horns on A Female Homo Sapiens’ has so far managed to grab 10 awards.

Kashefi was only 18 when he made the short film. His movies have attended more than 55 international festivals and received 14 awards so far.

“The Nashville Film Festival is a globally-recognized non-profit organization and cultural event presenting the best in world cinema, American independent films and documentaries by veteran masters, up-and-coming directors, and first-time filmmakers,” the gala’s website reads.

Established in 1969, the Oscar-qualifying festival is one of the oldest film festivals in the US.

The 50th Nashville Film Festival will take place on October 3-12, 2019.
