The 19th edition of Yari Iranian Film Festival in Sweden is to play host to Berlinale pick ‘Dressage’.
Directed by Pouya Badkoubeh, ‘Dressage’ tells the story of Golsa and her friends who, motivated primarily by boredom rather than greed, decide to rob a corner shop.
But while evaluating the steal, they are dismayed to realize that they forgot to take the security camera footage; so one of them must return to the crime scene and retrieve it.
The vote falls on Golsa, who bravely completes the mission. Her friends’ behavior makes her think, and she hides the hard drive somewhere secret.
But her accomplices and their well-to-do families put more and more pressure on Golsa, worried about their social standing.
Ali Mosaffa, Shabnam Moqaddami, Houshang Tavakkoli, Alireza Sanifar, Alireza Aqakhani, and Siamak Adib make the cast list.
Attending several film festivals worldwide, ‘Dressage’ is recipient of many acclaimed awards, including, jury members’ award from the Generation section of the 68th Berlin Film Festival, Golden Gazelle Award for best feature film at the 7th the Persian Int’l Film Festival in Australia and best debut film at the 4th CineIran Festival in Canada.
