Japan to host Iran blockbuster ‘6.5 Per Meter’

Iranian film ‘6.5 Per Meter’ is to vie at the Tokyo International Film Festival in Japan.

Saeed Roustaee’s blockbuster will compete at the main competition section of the event.

‘6.5 Per Meter’ is a story about a veteran narcotics officer and his team who search every corner of the capital as they hunt down the city’s largest drug kingpin and the complications involved in their mission.

Internationally acclaimed actor Peyman Maadi is joined by Navid Mohammadzadeh, Amir Jadidi, Parinaz Izadyar, and Farhad Aslani in making up the film’s main cast.

Established in 1985, the TIFF would be held biennially until 1991 and annually ever since.

Along with the Shanghai International Film Festival, TIFF is one of Asia's most important competitive film festivals, and the only Japanese festival accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations based in Paris.

The 32nd edition of the Japanese event is slated for October 28 – November 5, 2019.
