‘Just 6.5’ headed to Warsaw Film Fest

Iranian hit feature ‘Just 6.5’ is set to participate at the 35th Warsaw International Film Festival in Poland.

Written and directed by Saeed Roustaee, the 2019 drama will be screened as part of the “Discoveries” in the festival’s Non-Competitive section, featuring documentary and fiction films from around the world which deal with contemporary issues.

Following its international premiere at the Horizon’s section of the 76th Venice International Film Festival in Italy, Warsaw will be the fourth stop for Roustaee’s award-winning film after appearing at the 15th annual Zurich International Film Festival in Switzerland and the 32nd edition of the Tokyo International Film Festival in Japan.

Roustaee’s second feature film was awarded Best Editing and Best Sound as well as the Audience Award at the 37th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

The drama-thriller is the story of a veteran narcotics officer and his squad who search every corner of the capital as they hunt down the city’s largest drug kingpin and the complications involved in their mission.

Internationally acclaimed actor Peyman Maadi is joined by Navid Mohammadzadeh, Amir Jadidi, Parinaz Izadyar, and Farhad Aslani in making up the film’s main cast.

Founded in 1985, the Warsaw International Film Festival is an annual event featuring films of various genres from around the world.

The festival also organizes workshops for young film critics and journalists.

The event is set to be held October 11-20, 2019.
