I could have lost vision in film: Bazeghi

'Factor 8' series star Pejman Bazeghi says he could have lost his eyesight for playing a role in 'The Duel' movie.

Popular ifilm star said in a special screening of  Ahmadreza Darvish's movie held in Iranian capital city of Tehran that in one of the scenes he risked his eyesight to shoot for a sequence without blinking despite his torn contact lens.

“One day on the set of this movie, after sitting in the make-up chair for two and a half hours, the make-up artist who put the contact lenses in my eye realized that the they’re coming out of my eyes. As we saw the contacts in the light, they were all torn … it was almost sunset and there was no time to get another pair,” The actor said about the incident.

“I asked Mr. Darvish how long the filming of the scene would take and he said, ‘it’s for about 15 seconds’. I said, ‘Let's get in to it. I don't blink’. Later on, I realized that had I blinked and the lens would have stuck in my eyes, they would have been completely removed from the eye socket,” the actor further explains about the incident.

Set during the siege of Khorramshahr during Saddam Hussein’s war against Iran, The Duel is the story of a citizen soldier from a tribal village who returns home after spending 20 years in captivity as a POW only to see that he’s been slandered as a traitor.
