International Forum of New Cinema in India is to host Iranian films ‘Bench Cinema’ and ‘A House on 41st St.’
Directed by Mohammad Rahmanian, ‘Bench Cinema’ is to be screened at the 30th edition of the Indian event.
Starring Ashkan Khatibi, Ali Omrani, Mahtab Nasirour and Houman Barqnavard, ‘Bench Cinema’ had its world debut at Montreal World Film Festival in Canada after its screening at Iran’s 34th Fajr Film Festival.
The movie chronicles the experiences of a man who is in love with films and cinema, memorizing films and performing them on a bench for different audience.
‘A House on 41st St.’ directed by Hamidreza Ghrobani is another Iranian movie to be screened at the festival.
The disintegration of a middle-class family over a murder committed by a brother due to a bounced check, the piece says on the storyline of Hamid-Reza Ghorbani’s film, adding that 'A House on 41st Street' is a drama with a simple start and gradually moves into complex psychology and morality.
The 30th edition of Cine Central’s landmark program ‘International Forum Of New Cinema’ will be held from 27th March to 2nd April, 2017 at Swami Vivekananda Auditorium in Kolkata, India.
Cine Central, Kolkata, formed in November 1965, is the largest Film Society in India.
