'The Role' heads to Chicago Filmfest

Farnoush Samadi’s 'The Role' is to vie at the 55th edition of the Chicago International Film Festival (CIFF) in the US.

The short flick has been officially selected to compete in ‘Women in Cinema’ section of the festival which is a program to elevate women creators and to promote films by and about women, making space for new kinds of stories and new voices.

The 11-minute film narrates the story of a woman who accompanies her husband for an audition. The things that happen at the meeting lead the woman to make an important decision.

‘The Role’ has previously attended the 2018 Tirana Int’l Film Festival in Albania, the 25th Palm Springs Film Festival in the US and the 31st Minimalen Short Film Festival in Norway.

According to ifilm earlier reports, acclaimed drama ‘6.5 Per Meter’ is also Iran contender at the festival.

Founded in 1964, the CIFF is an annual film festival held every fall as the longest-running competitive film festival in North America.

The 55th edition of the CIFF is to be held on October 16-27, 2019.
