The 3rd edition of the Guwahati International Film Festival (GIDSAFF) in India is set to screen Hadi Mohaghegh’s latest short film ‘Iro’.
Some 100 films from over 65 countries will participate in the event.
‘Iro’ (meaning here) counts as Mohaghegh’s third film narrating the story of a lonely and tired old man whose restlessness efforts proves how deeply he has been obsessed with his problems and agonies.
He is thinking of saving his son, Sohrab. However, all doors are closed. Soon he realizes that he is trapped in the cycle of daily life and cannot change anything.
“Guwahati is an annual film festival to raise those film makers interested in the non-feature section of film-making art as well as the people interested in making short films or absorbing themselves in the field of animation,” pointed by the official website of the festival.
In its first edition, the festival was opened with the screening of the Oscar winning ‘The Salesman’ directed by Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi.
The upcoming edition of the festival will be held in Guwahati capital city of the State Assam on October 31-November 6, 2019.
