The 35th Warsaw International Film Festival in Poland has awarded Iran’s feature ‘A Hairy Tale’ by Homayoun Ghanizadeh.
‘A Hairy Tale’ represented Iran at the Polish festival’s International Competition and managed to win the Special Jury Award.
The film is about three barbers with different tastes, each passionate about his own interests.
“Danesh is in love with cinema and Homa, a well-known actress. Khan is mad about the movie ‘Casablanca’ and his barber shop’s certificate. Shapour will give anything for tinned tuna and politics.
The atmosphere in the city becomes oppressive. Could an earthquake be coming? Every now and then the body of a dead woman is found near the sea. All of their heads are shaved. As Inspector Kiani says, it’s a messy situation,” a synopsis for the film reads.
The cast of the film includes many prominent stars such as Ali Nasiriyan, Saber Abar, Babak Hamidiyan, Reza Kianian, and Hediyeh Tehrani.
The 35th Warsaw International Film Festival kicked off on October 11 and has been set to come to an end on October 20, 2019.
