The 2019 edition of the Carthage Film Festival (JCC) in Tunisia has scheduled to screen Iranian title ‘Once a Woman’.
Directed by Jalil Akbari-Sehhat, the movie will be screened at the Asian Cinema section of the Tunisian event along with titles from Sri Lanka, India, China, Vietnam, Nepal, Bangladesh and Azerbaijan Republic.
Written by Mohammad Rahmanian and produced by Azita Mougouee, ‘Once a Woman’ is a co-production of Iran, Canada and Kenya.
It narrates the story of several individuals who are exploring life to get to know more about themselves, others and the world.
‘Once a Woman’ stars Ghazal Shakeri, Pejman Hadavi, and a number of foreign actors.
According to earlier report, the 2019 JCC will also screen ‘Castle of Dreams’ by Reza Mirkarimi from Iran.
The JCC is a film festival that takes place in Tunisia. Created in 1966, it is the oldest event of its kind still active in Africa.
The vent has been designed as a film festival engaged in the cause of African and Arab countries and enhancing the South cinema in general.
The main prize awarded is the Golden Tanit named after the Phoenician goddess Tanit.
The 2019 edition of the JCC is slated for October 26-November 2.
