The 5th edition of the BangkokThai International Film Festival in Thailand has been screening Iranian short ‘Cradle of Silence’.
Directed by Mostafa Mehraban, the Iranian title is competing with other titles from the US, China, Brazil and the host country in the short films section of the event.
The 13-minute ‘Cradle of Silence’ tells the story of Rasoul, who has to deliver a cradle to his martyred friend’s widow.
With Rasoul returning from the southern war zone to the northern part of the country, his wife Laya plans on going back to the war zone with him.
The cradle becomes an excuse for Rasoul to reject his wife’s request.
The short film has gone on screen at global events such as the 2019 New York’s Montauk Film Festival and the 5th Reading Film Festival, both in the US.
The BANGIFF is a prestigious Asian festival annually held in Bangkok in three sections of feature films, short films and documentaries.
The 5th edition of the BANGIFF has been slated for October 27-October 30, 2019 in the capital city of Thailand.
