Iranian feature ‘Walnut’ has been attending the Filem’On International Film Festival in Belgium.
Directed by Mohammad-Reza Haji-Gholami, the 76-minute film is currently a contestant running for a CFEJ award at the 13th edition of the Belgian event which is devoted to young audiences.
“His parents are not getting along well and so they are filing for a divorce. While that is the case, his hands are going black and he supposes that is because of a wrong deed he has done. He and his mother venture on a trip to a remote village to watch the eclipse of the moon. The journey brings about this challenge for the kid to start accepting the separation and the sin he feels”, a brief synopsis for the film reads.
Mehrnoush Moqimi, Mohsen Amelzadeh, Mehdi Marashi, Radin Samadi and Fatemeh Mojibian are among the cast members of the flick.
‘The Pahlavi Hat’ star Anahita Nemati has also starred in ‘Walnut’.
Founded in 2007, the Filem’On International Film Festival is an annual event for kids from 2 to 15 years old.
The 13th edition of the event kicked off on October 23 and will hold closing ceremony on November 02, 2019 in the Belgian capital city of Brussels.
