Czech to hold Iranian film festival

The 6th Iranian Film Festival is set to be held in the Czech Republic.

The Czech festival presents both Jury and Audience awards and includes “Competition”, “Special Screening”, “Documents”, “Short Films” and “Night of Afghan Films” sections.

Some of the movies present in the competition section are ‘I’ by Soheil Beiraghi, ‘Immortal’ by Seyed Hadi Mohaghegh, ‘Salesman’ by Asghar Farhadi, ‘Sound and Fury’ by Hooaman Seyedi, ‘A Dragon Arrives’ by Mani Haghighi and ‘Nahid’ by Ida Panahandeh.

The Jury is headed by prominent Iranian director Rakhshan Bani Etemad. Hailed as the first lady of the Iranian cinema, Rakhshan Bani Etemad’s fruitful career has been admired and praised internationally for the last two decades.

The festival is the first comprehensive event on Iranian cinema in the Czech Republic.

The 6th Iranian Film Festival is scheduled to be held on January 10-15 in the cities of Prague, Brno and Bratislava, Czech Republic.
