Germany to host Iran’s ‘Driving Lessons’

Iranian short film ‘Driving Lessons’ has been selected to go on screen at the 32nd edition of the Exground Film Festival in Germany.

Directed by Marzieh Riahi and written by Marjan Riahi, the film’s cast is made up of actors Linda Kiani, Alireza Thanifar, Salar Khamseh, and Sanaz Mesbah.

“Bahareh must have her traditional chauvinistic husband accompany her during driving lessons so that she and her instructor are not left together without a third party’s presence,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The short has previously competed at the Tampere Film Festival in Finland, the Cartagena Film Festival in Colombia, the Tribeca Film Festival in the US, and the Edmonton International Film Festival in Canada.

200 works are selected from 2500 registered titles and will go on screen at the Exground festival.

The fest brings the attendees the chance to meet and discuss the films.

The fest is slated for November 15-24 in the German city of Wiesbaden.
