Iranian famed painter and graphic designer Behzad Shishegaran has unveiled a poster themed on the Persian New Year (Nowruz).
The poster titled “A Homage to Nowruz’ is one of the artist’s posters made with no prior costumer’s order.
“For rejuvenation, for happiness, for greenness, for flower buds, for blossoms, for flowers, for body and soul, for peace and for living in love,” the artist wrote about his new poster.
Shishegaran is an Iranian painter and graphic designer born in Tehran in 1952. Graduated from Tehran School of Fine Arts with a diploma in painting and later got his BA in graphic design from Tehran University of Art.
He has created 18 collections of artworks since 1971 as well as making numerous political, social and cultural posters.
Shishegaran has been teaching drawing, painting and graphic design courses since 1975.
The Persian New Year starts with the beginning of spring in Iran, where people hold ceremonies for the onset of the season. This year, Nowruz celebration starts on March 20, 2017.
