The 13th Annual Short Short Story Film Festival is to play host to three short titles from Iran.
The titles for this year’s edition of the festival include ‘Birthday Party’ by Amir Salimkhani, ‘The Factory’ co-directed by Ali Rahimi and Mohammad Amin Sharifi, and ‘V. Cycle’ by Ahmad Khoshniat.
According to the official website of the event, the festival consists of two distinct programs of short films: the Heartstrings Program, which includes stories of an emotional nature, and the Headtrip Program, which presents forays into bizarre or unsettling territory.
‘Birthday Party’ will be attending the ‘Heartstrings’ section while ‘The Factory’ and ‘V. Cycle’ will present Iran in the ‘Headtrip’ section of the festival.
To put it short, ‘Birthday Party’ is a story about a girl named Elham who is preparing for her birthday and tells her dreams to her friends.
‘The Factory’ tackles upon a bunch of junkies who are using drugs in an abandoned building. In three minutes and forty five seconds, ‘V. Cycle’ symbolically depicts the human condition against the invasion of different ideologies.
The Short Short Story Film Festival is a competitive international festival of films that tell a story in under six minutes, celebrating brevity in filmmaking with both live-action and animated films.
The festival has taken place every November since 2007, in Providence and other cities in the northeastern United States.
For 2019, the 13th edition of the festival takes place in Providence, Rhode Island, USA on November 30.
