Kolkata festival screens Iranian lineup

The 25th edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) in India has screened a lineup of Iranian films.

The lineup of 17 Iranian films went on screen at different sections of the 25th KIFF.

‘Women Who Run with the Wolves’ by Amir-Athar Soheili was screened at the official competition section of the Indian event.

Documentary section of the 25th KIFF screened ‘The Satan’s Horn’ by Hadi Qorbani, ‘Aleppo: The Silence of the War’ by Amir Osanlou, ‘Pishasho’ (Meeting) by Reza Majlesi, ‘Culture Means’ by Mokhtar Namdar, and ‘Mandak’ (Heritage) by Afrouz Khanbolouki.

‘Tanakora’ co-directed by Hamed Parizadeh, Meysam Hassani and Amir-Reza Rashti, ‘Let Me Be in the Sky’ by Farzan Farhangian, ‘Utopia’ by Ali-Mohammad Eqbaldar, ‘Location’ by Mohammad Salimirad, ‘Are You Volleyball?’ by Mohammad Bakhshi, ‘Reza’s Wish’ by Seyyed-Saeed Nemati, ‘Elephantbird’ by Amir-Masoud Soheili, ‘The Tale of My Lush Green Field’ by Parviz Amini, ‘Cellmate’ by Behzad Khodaveisi, ‘High Tide’ by Hamed Golshahi as well as ‘Greyish’ by Eqbal Shirazi-Sani were screened at the short film section of the event.

The KIFF is one of the oldest and most valid festivals in India. The fest aims at creating an opportunity for a better understanding of international films and to promote motion picture art and industry.

The 25th KIFF was held on November 8-15, 2019.
