Ali Zaher, the Lebanese jury member of the 49th Roshd International Film Festival in Iran, has been impressed by Iranian cinema during the event.
Zaher said it’s an honor for him to introduce Iran’s cinema to Egypt, Lebanon and other countries.
He added, “We use Iran’s experience in the film industry in our country, Lebanon”.
The jury member expressed gratitude to the organizers of the festival and said, “I’m glad that I could participate at the festival. It’s a great experience for me”.
According to Zaher, more than 300 Iranian films have been screened in Lebanon in the last 10 years. The Iranian films were welcomed by the Lebanese audience.
He suggested that Iran increases interaction with the regional countries.
He believes, in spite of the sanctions against Iran, the country can hold the festival in the countries.
The First Night of the Cinema of the Resistance which was held on the sidelines of the Roshd fest hosted guests from Lebanon. The program was attended by Zaher who is the director of the Lebanese Art Association, and producers of short films and television Majid Shah-Hosseini and Massoud Fayyazi, and Director-General of the Office of Publications and Educational Technology Vahid Golestan, as well as festival secretary and a number of enthusiasts.
Founded in 1963, the Roshd International Film Festival is Iran’s first and longest-standing global film event.
The festival’s main goal is to exchange educational films globally with the main theme being science, education, and ethics.
The 49th Roshd has been slated for November 15-22, 2019, to be followed by screenings in other provinces on November 23-May 8.
