Award winners of the Roshd International Film Festival in Iran have been announced.
The 49th edition of the event held closing ceremony on Friday evening November 22 during which the winners in different categories have been announced.
Hamid-Reza Qotbi’s feature film ‘That Night's Train’ from Iran which opened this year edition of the festival grabbed the Best Feature Film award.
The Best Short Film award went to ‘Needle’ directed by Yousef Jafari from Iran.
Alireza Dehqan’s documentary ‘Reckless’ was the title to claim the Best Documentary Film Award of the event. And the award for the Best Animation Film was given to ‘After Like’ which was made by Japanese filmmakers.
And finally the CIFEJ Award was received by Amir Mashhadi’s ‘Douch’.
Founded in 1963, the Roshd International Film Festival is the first and longest standing global film event in Iran.
The festival’s main goal is to exchange educational films globally with the main theme being science, education, and ethics.
The 49th Roshd held on November 15-22, 2019 and it is also set to be followed by screenings in other provinces of Iran on November 23-May 8.
