ifilm star to play Asiya in ‘Prophet Moses’

‘Prophet Joseph’ star Parvaneh Masoumi has been cast to appear in a new biopic on Prophet Moses’s life.

In this new production directed by Jamal Shourjeh, the veteran Iranian actress will bring to life the role of Asiya, Pharaoh’s wife who saves Prophet Moses (PBUH) from both the Nile and Paharaoh and became the prophet’s adoptive mother.

Actor in ‘Mirza koochak Khan’ has talked to the media about this new role and mentioned that she will play the character in her middle age and Asiya’s youth will be portrayed by another actress.

Masoumi made her cinematic debut in 1971 with a short film titled ‘The Journey’.

She has since acted in several movies, including ‘Captain Khorshid’, ‘Suitcase’, ‘Toranj’, and ‘The Resident of the Wooden House’.

‘Imam Ali (AS)’, ‘A Passanger to Rey’, ‘The Honeymoon’, ‘Hereafter’, and ‘The Hidden Secret’ are a number of ifilm series in which the actress has starred.

‘Prophet Moses’ TV series is based on Quranic descriptions and references from 'Tafsir al-Mizan'.

'Tafsir al-Mizan' is an exegesis of the holy Quran. It was written by Allamah Seyyed Mohammad-Hossein Tabatabaee.
