Joint theater play produced by Iran and Azerbaijan Republic has been staged in Azeri capital city of Baku.
The theater play tilted ‘‘Bakhtavar’ (lucky) was brought to the stage on Wednesday with upcoming performances due to continue till the end of Nowruz holidays (ending on April 2, 2017).
A media report said the Wednesday performance was warmly received by the audience in Azerbaijan Republic as well as Iranians who went to the country to spend holidays for Nowruz.
Yaghoub Sadiq Jamali who directed the play was also quoted by the media as saying that “effective collaboration between two neighboring countries Iran and Azerbaijan Republic” culminated in ‘Bakhtavar’.
For the comic play ‘Bakhtavar’, Azerbaijan State Theater of Musical Comedy in Baku, one of the country’s leading musical theaters, collaborated with Babak theater troupe based in Iranian city of Tabriz.
A new joint theater production by both countries is in development, the director added.
The Persian new year, Nowruz, begins as the first day of spring arrives in Iran, where people hold ceremonies for the onset of the season.
