‘Sluggish Life’ to vie in Turkey

Iranian short film ‘Sluggish Life’ has been selected to compete at the 6th Uşak Winged Seahorse Short Film Festival in Turkey.

Directed by Mohsen Mehri, the short narrates the story of a man who is living a weird life.

“A man lives alone in a dark house between millions of eggs; he wants to call someone, but he does not succeed until the phone rings,” a synopsis for ‘Sluggish Life’ reads.

The short is produced by Qazvin Youth Cinema Association along with Moeen Takrousta and Alireza Rahimzadeh.

Mehri’s short has previously participated at a number of festivals, including the 2018 Tirana International Film Festival in Albania, the 2018 Izmir Short Film Festival in Turkey, the 2018 Tehran International Short Film Festival in Iran, the 2019 Watersprite International Student Film Festival in the UK, the 6th Chennai International Short Film Festival in India, and the 9th Queens World Film Festival in the US.

Established in 2014, the Uşak Winged Seahorse continued to be the first and only filmfest in the Turkish city of Uşak.

The fest brings the attendees several workshops and courses.

The fest is slated for December 9-13, 2019.
