‘Driving Lessons’ to compete in Jordan

Iranian short film ‘Driving Lessons’ has been selected to compete at the 10th Karama Human Rights Film Festival in Jordan.

Directed by Marzieh Riahi and written by Marjan Riahi, the film’s cast is made up of actors Linda Kiani, Alireza Thanifar, Salar Khamseh, and Sanaz Mesbah.

“Bahareh must have her traditional chauvinistic husband accompany her during driving lessons so that she and her instructor are not left together without a third party’s presence,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The short has previously competed at the Tampere Film Festival in Finland, the Cartagena Film Festival in Colombia, the Tribeca Film Festival in the US, and the Edmonton International Film Festival in Canada.

Held since 2010, the six-day film festival includes several interrelated activities such as film screenings, discussion sessions, seminars and workshops.

The fest is slated for December 5-12, 2019.
