Iranian-French film ‘Komur’ (Charcoal) has been set to participate at the upcoming edition of the Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF) in India.
Directed by Esmaeel Monsef, the movie will be screened at the 17th edition of CIFF, Iranian media outlets reported.
“Revenge is the product of humiliation…,” a synopsis for the film reads.
The flick narrates the story of Gheirat, a modest charcoal producer, who has been pushed into a tragic spiral after his son received a jail sentence.
‘Komur’ is starring Hadi Eftekharzadeh, Zhila Shahi, Yousef Yazdani, and Farid Adhami, among others.
In October, ifilm English website published an exclusive report on the flick, featuring remarks made by Eftekharzadeh, Shahi, Yazdani, and Adhami, as well as the director of photography Mohammad-Reza Jahanpanah and the film's director.
Earlier reports said Iranian films ‘Zero Floor’ by Ebrahim Ebrahimian and Saeed Roustaee’s ‘6.5 per Meter’ (Just 6.5) would also attend the Indian event.
The 17th edition of the Chennai International Film Festival is set to take place on December 12-19, 2019.
