Iranian film ‘Cold Breath’ has been scheduled to compete at the "Cinema at the Edge" Indie Film Festival in California, the US.
Directed and produced by Abbas Raziji, the film is to be screened at the competition section of the US event.
The movie narrates the story of Maryam who has passed thirty and the hardship she faces every day.
Being Iran’s only feature film representative, the ‘Cold Breath’ stars Bita Baderan, Majid Mozaffari, Parichehr Riali, Hamideh Barati and Ezzatollah Ramezanifar.
The cast and crew of the film are not attending the festival due to Trump’s controversial travel ban on citizens of seven predominantly Muslim nations, including Iran.
The 5th Annual Cinema at the Edge Independent Film Festival (CATE) presents films of all genres that feature a distinct vision, a unique voice or a challenge to what is expected and accepted in the medium.
CATE’s mission is to feature films which will, first and foremost, connect with audiences but also give independent filmmakers genuine exposure and additional opportunities for global distribution.
CATE 2017 is slated for April 27-30.
