‘Diapason’ goes to India

Iran feature film ‘Diapason’ is scheduled to compete at the 25th Kolkata Independent Film Festival (KIFF) in India.

Kolkata Independent Filmfest will make the fourth international premiere of ‘Diapason’ directed and penned by Hamed Tehrani and produced by Alireza Shojanouri.

Diapason’ is about a 50-year-old single working mom named Ranaa who is living happily with her daughter Hoda until the daughter dies in an accident.

It was filmed in Tehran and popular Iranian actress Zhaleh Sameti has played the main role of the film.

Behnoush Bakhtiyari, Alireza Ostadi, Mehdi Hosseininia and Hossein Tehrani are also among the cast of the film.

‘Diapason’ was previously screened at the 24th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, the 17th TOFIFEST International Film Festival in Poland and 20th Geneva Int’l Independent Film Festival Black Movie.

KIFF is an annual film festival founded in 1995. It is the second oldest international film festival in India.

A total of 213 feature films and 152 short and documentary films from 76 countries will be screened in 17 venues during the event.

The upcoming edition of the event is to be held on January 5-11, 2020 in Kolkata, India.
