Iranian film director is set to be honored at the upcoming Fajr Film Festival in Iran.
Fereydoun Jeyrani made his stage début with acting in a play named ‘Esmat’ in 1972.
He entered the film industry by writing the screenplay for a movie by Mehdi Sabaghzadeh in 1981 and continued writing until 1987 when he directed his first movie.
He has directed several movies, including ‘Red’ (1998), ‘Fire and Water’ (2000), ‘The Last Supper’ (2001), ‘Pink’ (2002), ‘Season Salad’ (2004), ‘Zagros’ (2005), the trilogy of ‘Stars’ (2005), ‘Parkway’ (2006), ‘Parya's Story’ (2010), and ‘I'm a Mother’ (2010).
He has also made series such as ‘The Gradual Death of a Dream’ (2008) and ‘The Warped Interpretation of a Dream’ (2015).
Jeyrani has been nominated for several awards for movies such as ‘Red’, ‘The Last Supper’, and ‘Pink’.
In addition to directing, Jeyrani is also a producer, cinematographer, screenplay writer, television anchor and journalist.
The 2020 edition of Fajr Fest is set to be held in February next year with Ebrahim Darouqehzadeh acting as the director of the event.
