Iranian-Afghan short film ‘Elephantbird’ has been set to attend the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh.
Directed by Amir-Masoud Soheili, the 16-minute short will be in competition at the Short and Independent section of the 18th edition of the Bangladeshi event. A total number of 59 international works from countries such as Armenia, Egypt, Finland and France will be competing at this category of the festival.
A brief synopsis for the short fiction reads, “The last wish of an old Afghan man is to give his ‘elephant-bird’ (turkey) to his grandchild, but this simple wish is hard to realize”.
The film has already attended a number of fests and won awards including, the Special Jury Award of the Sedicicorto International Film Festival in Italy.
Established in 1992, the Dhaka International Film Festival is a biennial film festival in Bangladesh.
This edition of the event is slated for January 11-19, 2020.
