The administrative office of the Fajr Film Festival has announced the names of the venues participating at the 38th edition of the event.
Fifteen theaters in the capital city of Tehran will be hosting public screenings for the 2020 event, according to the festival’s venue administrator, Mohammad-Reza Faraji.
Azadi Cinema Complex, Esteqlal Cinema, Iran Mall Cineplex, Book Garden Cineplex, Tamasha Cineplex, Javan Cinema, Raga Cinema Complex, Zendegi Cineplex, Farhang Cinema, Fajr Cinema (in Eslamshahr), Kourosh Cineplex, Kian Cinema Complex, Mandana Cinema, Megamall Cineplex, and the Cinema Museum of Iran will be screening features for the ten-day event.
The Fajr Film Festival coincides with the Ten-Day Fajr (Dawn) ceremonies across Iran, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Since its establishment in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.
Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors along with up and coming filmmakers from Iran every year.
The 38th edition of the event is set to launch on February 1, 2020 and will run until February 11 in Tehran.
An international version of the event is also set to be held in April 2020.
