Fajr filmfest picks New Look lineup

The ‘New Look’ section of the 38th Fajr Film Festival in Iran has announced lineup.

The selected titles to compete at this section of the event are:

Slaughterhouse’ directed by Abbas Amini

 

Zero Day’ directed by Saeed Malekan

 

Silent Snail’ directed by Behrang Dezfoulizadeh

 

Butterfly Stroke’ directed by Mohammad Kart

 

Plain-Clothes’ directed by Amir-Abbas Rabiee

 

Reset’ directed by Mohammad-Reza Lotfi

 

The Enemies’ Directed by Ali Derakhshandeh

 

Skin’ co-directed by Bahman and Bahram Ark

 

Fathers’ directed by Salem Salavati

 

That Night’ directed by Kourosh Ahari

Mohammad Ehsani, Mahmoud Arbabi, Homayoun Asadiyan, Yalda Jebeli, Reza Dorostkar, Mahmoud Razavi and Hossein Karami have formed the selection committee deciding which movies to take part at this category of the festival.

The Fajr Film Festival’s ‘New Look’ is specified to the first-time directors who have made their first feature film.

Established in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 38th Fajr Film Festival is set to kick off on February 1, 2020 and runs till February 11 in Tehran.
