The 2017 edition of the Athens International Film and Video Festival (AIFVF) in the US has scheduled to screen three Iranian movies in the competition section.
The festival, which started on Monday, will screen ‘Another Time’ directed by Nahid Hassanzadeh, ‘Alone Among the Taliban’ made by Mohsen Eslamzadeh, and 'Butterflies' by Adnan Zandi.
Hassanzadeh’s ‘Another Time’ tells the story of Ghadir, who is a chemical plant worker going through a hard time. The screening session of the 72-minute feature film is slate for April 4.
Eslamzadeh’s ‘Alone Among the Taliban’ is a documentary that depicts 15 days of the documentarian’s stay among the Taliban in Afghanistan. The 65-minute doc, produced in Iran and Afghanistan, is to go on screen on April 5.
Zandi’s ‘Butterflies’ is 3-minute short film about a mother who struggles to find a place to nurse her son. It will compete on April 9.
Moreover, ‘Undocument’, a joint episodic feature on longing, love, immigration and identity by British filmmaker Kyla Simone Bruce and Iranian filmmaker Amin Bakhshian went on screen on April 3.
