Iranian feature film ‘Camion’ has been set to attend the Festival of 5 Continents in India.
Written and directed by Kambuzia Partovi, the film will be in competition at the 10th edition of the Indian film event which will be held in the city Kolkata.
The film narrates the story of a woman of the Yazidi religion and her kids who have lost their home in Iraq in a Daesh forces attack. This small family is now accompanied by a truck driver on his vehicle heading towards Iran in pursuit of her husband. Once in Tehran, they crush into a rich Tehrani woman’s BMW automobile.
‘Camion’, which is a comeback feature for Partovi who has been away from filmmaking for 11 years, premiered at the 36th Fajr International film Festival in Iran and succeeded to win the Best Screenplay award of the event.
Notable among the cast members of the flick are Saeed Aghakhani, Niki Karimi and Ramin Rastad; and Nasrin Moradi who is the director’s spouse.
The Satyajit Ray Auditorium at Indian Council for Cultural Relations will be the venue to host this year edition of the Festival of 5 Continents.
The announced date for the event is January 12-16, 2020.
