Iran short to vie at American event

Iranian short film ‘Punishment’ has been set to vie at the Red Dirt Film Festival in the US.

Directed by Jalal Veisi, the 11-minute short will be in competition at the Narrative Shorts section of the 7th edition of the American film event.

‘Punishment’ is an anti-war flick which censures abusing power for the destruction of human ideals and dreams.

Sirvan Karimi is the writer of the flick and Mehran Mokari is the only actor of this film which has no dialogues.

The short has so far attended a number of international events including the Derby Film Festival in the UK.

 The latest edition of the Red Dirt Film Festival is slated for March 5-8, 2020.
