Turkey screening Iranian ‘Azadeh’

Turkey has been screening ‘Azadeh’ during a special program titled “Iranian Short Film Month”.

The event is hosting nine Iranian short titles, including ‘It Rains Slowly’ produced in Turkey and made by Saeed Nejati.

Directed by Mirabbas Khosravinejad, the 10-minute ‘Azadeh’ tells the story of a little girl who wants to meet her father for the last time, but her mother and brother don’t let her.

Amir-Hossein Beiranvand, Mahdieh Ahmadi-Rad, Masoumeh Korkizad, and Alireza Baharvand have appeared in ‘Azadeh’.

Gone on screen at the 16th Kinofilm & Manchester International Film Festival in the UK and the 18th Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh, the film has won honors such as the best short feature award at the 41st UNCIPAR international short film festival in Argentina.

Every week, two Iranian films are on screen at the Turkish festival and online Q&A sessions with the director are being held.

The Iranian Short Film Month is underway in the Turkish city of Izmir and will continue until March 7.
