Iran short to vie at US fest

Iranian short animation ‘Tangle’ has been picked to attend the SPE Media Festival in the US.

Directed by Maliheh Qolamzadeh, the award-winning short will be in competition at the 25th edition of the American film event.

‘Tangle’ is a narrative of a girl’s experience of a war. It shows how a little girl has lost all her family members to this cruel war.

The seven-minute toon has already attended a number of international film events and has succeeded to win awards including, the Narrative Grand Prize at Anthem film festival in the US, the Best Animation award at the Early Bird International Student Film Festival in Bulgaria and the best animated short movie of the year at the Iran Independent Animation Celebration.

The SPE Media Festival, which has originally been SPE Women’s Film Festival, showcases shorts and documentaries about and by women from around the world.

The latest edition of the event is slated for March 5-8, 2020.
