Berlinale 2020 to screen Iran actor movie

Berlin International Film Festival is set to screen French director Anne Fontaine's film starring Iranian actor Peyman Maadi.

The prestigious film event will screen the flick 'Police' ('Night Shift') in a special screening at the 2020 edition of the event.

This section provides a platform for films that captivate a wide audience and serves as a platform for international as well as global premieres.

"The protagonists of Police, Anne Fontaine’s new film, with Omar Sy playing a dramatic role, are torn between desires and fears. Along with Sy, Virginie Efira and Grégory Gadebois complete a trio of policemen and -women who represent a fascinating cross-section of French society," the event's website wrote.

The cast list includes Omar Sy, Virginie Efira, Grégory Gadebois and Peyman Maadi with the Iranian actor having "a devastating performance as the Tajikistani who can’t speak a word of his “host” country’s language," the Berlinale website reads.

The flick will have four showings at 2020 Berlinale event to be held February 20-March 1, 2020.

The Berlin International Film Festival, otherwise known as the Berlinale, is a film festival annually held in Germany.
