Beloit hosting Iranian ‘Jalil & Khalil’

The 15th edition of the Beloit International Film Festival (BIFF) in the US has been hosting Iranian short documentary ‘Jalil & Khalil’.

Directed by Rouhollah Akbari, the 29-minute doc has gone on the US screen on February 23 and will be screened once more on February 29.

The documentary is about Jalil and Khalil who live in an Iranian village. They are engaged in farming. The twin boys help their parents in agriculture and animal husbandry.

The officials of the sports department in the county noticed that these boys are talented in running. So, the boys were invited to join the running team. Later they succeeded to join the national running team. They also participated in Asian competitions and won top awards.

The BIFF is a ten-day tribute to the power of film and the excitement of independent film from around the world, hosting more than 100 films, and meeting scores of filmmakers from the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

The BIFF celebrates filmmakers in all genres—features, documentaries, shorts— who enjoy the Beloit setting as much as the attendees do. The BIFF promises crowds of interested viewers filling venues, questioning them at the films, and stopping them on the street to talk about their shared passions and projects in independent filmmaking.

The 15th BIFF kicked off on February 21 and will run until March 1, 2020.
